For some quiet, relaxing, pampering time before your baby’s arrival, treat yourself to a Baby Moon Vacation at The Monkey Tree Hotel in beautiful Palm Springs, California. For those who may not be familiar with the term “Baby Moon”, it’s basically a little R&R vacation for the mom-to-be (and significant other welcome to join too) to rejuvenate and un-wind before the big delivery date. It’s a chance to get a way from work and baby prep and spoil yourself before all hell breaks loose. As a mom of two (my boys are now 16 and 18), I wish this vacation existed way back then. After seeing “baby-mooners” here at The Monkey Tree, I have been lately been suggesting to Gary that I intend to claim my two baby-moons at some point. (These statements have been largely ignored by Gary, but I am not giving up!)
The Monkey Tree Hotel is located in a residential neighborhood which is away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, the hotel is an oasis with a private enclosed courtyard, plenty of green space, palm trees, swimming pools along with ample breathing room to create a private resort feel for all guests. Located 5 minutes from downtown, it’s an easy car ride to restaurants and it’s also very convenient to just order when when you just feel like staying in your lounge-about clothing all day. (Important side note: we are about 5 minutes from Albertson’s grocery store for any cravings that may pop up!)
For moms-to-be, take the time to soak your feet in our Scandanvian Spa cycle and let the cycle of heat and cold alleviate stress, eliminate toxins and help your tired muscles and swollen feet recover. Sip some refreshing lemon and cucumber water and take a nice long nap in our saltwater pool (yes, we’ve got fun pool floats).
For that extra bit of spoiling, we can arrange for our local massage therapists from Grounded Body Works https://www.groundedbodyworks.com/ to come to the property for an in-room pre-natal massage – or as we like to call it…The Desert Momma Experience!
The hotel has a large, indoor (air-conditioned) living room/breakfast room. A house-made continental breakfast is included, and the daily menu can be tailored to our guests’ requests such as gluten-free, paleo, and vegan. The hotel has an outdoor dining area as well and a large green lawn space – a perfect area for stretching, reading or simply relaxing while gazing at the amazing view of the San Jacinto Mountains.

And I’d like to add – Davee is adorable and now the proud mom of a beautiful baby boy named Rowan!!
